The Philodendron Micans is a beautiful trailing philodendron loved for its soft, velvety foliage and rich, shifting color. Its heart-shaped leaves can display shades of deep green, bronze, copper, and burgundy depending on the lighting and maturity of the foliage. The subtle shimmer of its velvet leaves gives this easy-growing plant an extra-luxurious look.
Collector Rarity: Uncommon / Specialty Houseplant
✦Why You’ll Love It
- •Micans offers gorgeous velvet texture without demanding complicated care. Its trailing vines look beautiful cascading from a shelf or hanging planter, but it can also be trained to climb for larger, more mature foliage. New leaves often emerge with warm bronze and reddish tones before deepening into their signature velvety green.
Please Note
Each plant is unique, and size, shape, fullness, leaf count, coloration, and growth pattern may naturally vary. Minor cosmetic imperfections are normal with live plants and do not affect the overall health of the plant. Plants may experience minor stress during shipping and may require a short acclimation period after arrival.
✦Care Summary
- •Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can damage the delicate foliage.
- •Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering thoroughly. Avoid keeping the soil consistently wet or soggy.
- •Humidity: Prefers moderate to higher humidity but can adapt well to average household conditions.
- •Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 65–85°F and should be protected from cold drafts.
- •Soil: Prefers a chunky, airy, well-draining aroid mix with good airflow around the roots.
- •Growth Habit: Naturally trailing and vining. Can be allowed to cascade or trained to climb a support for larger foliage.
- •Pet Safety: Toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and children.
- •A velvety favorite with gorgeous shifting color, beautiful trailing growth, and an easygoing nature. 🌿✨
